Story Pirates visit Seely Place
Carol Bartlik

The Story Pirates visited Seely Place in the fall to work with 4th and 5th grade student authors.  They are a nationally respected education organization, based in New York and Los Angeles. The Story Pirates turn students' original stories into wild sketch comedy musicals, featuring professional actors.
Last week they returned to Seely to bring some of these stories to life in hilarious, colorful and creative skits!  Students were amazed to see their stories performed.

Many thanks to the PTA for bringing the Story Pirates to Seely Place.

Student Council Candy Drive

Seely Place Student Council had overwhelming support for their candy donation drive.  Since they collected so much leftover Halloween candy, they decided to split the donations between two organizations!
Student council made over 400 goodie bags for the youth at the Coachman Shelter in White Plains this morning. Additionally, they will be able to send unopened bags of candy to troops and veterans through the Soldiers Angels organization.

Seely Place Votes
Carol Bartlik

In honor of Election Day, Seely Place Student Council organized a school-wide election last week. On November 2, all students in the school cast their ballot. They voted on whether to have Pajama Day, No Homework Day or Movie in the Classroom. Student Council tallied the ballots on Friday. And the winner is...Movie in the Classroom! Thank you to the Student Council, Seely Parent reps and Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Borella for this fun way to learn about voting.
